Why are there recommended prerequisites before taking the Birth Assistant Basics Course?
We have found that it benefits the student to attend an NRP class before attending our Birth Assistant Basics Course. That said, we have recently modified our course requirements to allow the student to decide if they wish to complete these prerequisites BEFORE attending our BABC. Our basics course moves fairly quickly due to the material that needs to be covered in our 2 days together, most students find attending at least the Doula course helps create a foundation of birth knowledge that will benefit you in our classroom. The only REQUIRED prerequisite for this class is taking a Doula Course or the Attending Community Birth Course.
